AN UNRIVALLED SERIES
Bowmore®’s unparalleled range of award-winning single malts is renowned for four key flavour characteristics
found in every bottle. From the salty sea spray of the Atlantic Ocean that pounds the distillery’s ancient coastal
wall, to the gentle peat smoke synonymous with this famous Islay malt, Bowmore® will proudly showcase its
distinctive qualities with the launch of the Vault Edit1°n series.
UNLOCK HIDDEN DEPTHS
The Vault Edit1°n series takes its name from Bowmore®’s
legendary No.1 Vaults, which was established in 1779. It has been
said that time stands still in the chilling sea-air atmosphere of the
No.1 Vaults and transforms single malt whisky into liquid gold to
create Bowmore®’s perfectly balanced expressions and the
distinctive flavours highlighted by this series: Atlantic sea salt,
peat smoke, sweetness and citrus fruits.
AN OCEAN OF FLAVOUR
Aged in ex-bourbon casks, the first release in this highly
anticipated new series will highlight Bowmore®’s distinctive salty
flavour profile with notes of salted honeycomb and Atlantic sea
spray perfectly balanced with notes of sun-ripened fruits, zingy
spiced cocoa and blood orange. Created using hand selected casks
to create a refined liquid of greater depth, Bowmore® Vault
Edit1°n Atlantic Sea Salt reflects the distinctive climate in the
depths of the No. 1 Vaults. This sublime whisky is awash with
blackberry, sea salt and kumquat offering a lasting finish that
opens out like the vast Atlantic Ocean that the Bowmore® distillery overlooks.
Bowmore® Vault Edit1°n Atlantic Seat Salt will be available at specialist whisky retailers, as part of a fourpart
limited edition series, one of which will be released each year between now and 2019. The next
release in the Vault Edit1°n series will be Vault Edit1°n Peat Smoke.

The Irish Whiskey Museum, which is housed in an Edwardian style listed building on the bottom of Grafton Street is the first Irish whiskey museum in the world! The Museum is housed over three floors with lift access to every floor. Together with excellent bus routes and close proximity to train stations, not to mention several multi storey car parks nearby, in terms of accessibility, the location is hard to beat. The building has been carefully and sympathetically refurbished and has wonderful views over the front of Trinity College and College Green from our Cafe Bar at the entrance level to the Museum.
The Irish Whiskey Museum tells the story of Irish whiskey from its origins to the present day and gives visitors a glimpse of social and political history during the various stages of the rise and fall and rebirth of the whiskey industry in Ireland. Visitors availing of the tour option are given a guided tour of the museum during which our very knowledgeable guides tell stories from the various stages of history. The tours are complemented by state of the art technology and interactive props through four very different areas of the museum representing different stages in the development and growth of whiskey in Ireland. Tours run every day except Christmas day from 10am to 6pm (last tour).
At the Irish Whiskey Museum, we also cater for small to medium sized private groups and parties for every occasion. The atmosphere in the museum is cosy and intimate whether there is 20 or 120 in attendance and we can cater for both size groups and everything in between.
Events are generally held in the evening time once the last public tour has ended. We are very flexible and we will try our best to accommodate any type of event that potential clients are considering. In a major legal breakthrough, Scotch Whisky has been registered as a certification trade mark in Taiwan, giving consumers and the industry better protection against fakes.
Taiwan is the fourth biggest market for Scotch by value with exports worth £75 million in the first six months of the year. Consumers are knowledgeable about Scotch and willing to try out new brands. It is the third biggest overseas market for Single Malt with exports worth £41m in the first half 2016.
The Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), which applied for the trade mark, says the existence of the UK Customs’ Spirit Drinks Verification Scheme, which was introduced in 2014, was an important factor in meeting the requirements necessary to secure protection. The scheme ensures every part of the Scotch Whisky supply chain is mapped by the industry, registered with the UK Government and inspected to check it complies with all the rules on the production of Scotch. The SWA said the scheme gave the authorities in Taiwan even greater confidence in the robust procedures around Scotch.
The trade mark recognises that Scotch must be made in Scotland from water, cereals and yeast and matured for at least three years. It is of great commercial value to the Scotch Whisky industry and gives consumers confidence in the quality and provenance of what they are buying. A second trade mark has been awarded in Taiwan to protect the Chinese characters that spell out ‘Scotch Whisky’.
The SWA says that while it already works well with the authorities in Taiwan, which is an ordered and well-regulated market, the trade marks make it more straightforward to take legal action against anyone trying to produce or sell fake Scotch in the future.
Lindesay Low, Scotch Whisky Association senior legal counsel, said: “Taiwan has for many years been a major market for Scotch Whisky, in particular Single Malts. The trade marks for Scotch Whisky mean that consumers can have even greater confidence in the quality of what they are buying. It will also give a further boost to Scotch Whisky producers exporting to Taiwan.
“We would like to thank the authorities in Taiwan who were of great assistance in working with us on the successful outcome of our trade mark application, as were the UK Government.”
